What to Expect

1. Consultation: Your provider assesses facial proportions and volume deficit, reviews your goals, and discusses product selection and expected outcomes.
2. Preparation: Topical numbing cream is applied for 20–30 minutes. Most HA fillers contain lidocaine for additional comfort.
3. Injection: Treatment takes 20–40 minutes depending on the areas treated. You may be asked to sit upright to assess symmetry during the procedure.
4. Aftercare: Mild swelling and occasional bruising for 3–7 days. Avoid strenuous exercise and significant heat (saunas, hot yoga) for 24 hours.
5. Results: Visible immediately; final result at 2 weeks once swelling fully resolves.

How Long Do Fillers Last?

Duration depends on the product, area, and the patient's metabolism. In general:

• Lip fillers: 6–12 months
• Nasolabial folds: 12–18 months
• Cheek/Voluma: 18–24 months
• Tear troughs: 12–18 months (variable)

Frequently Asked Questions

Can fillers be dissolved if I don't like the result?

Hyaluronic acid fillers (Juvéderm, Restylane) can be dissolved with hyaluronidase, an enzyme that breaks down HA. This is an important safety advantage — results can be reversed if needed. Radiesse and other non-HA fillers are not reversible, which is why patient selection and technique matter.

Is filler safe near the eyes?

Periorbital filler (especially tear trough) is one of the higher-risk injection zones due to proximity to blood vessels serving the eye. Can I combine Botox and fillers in the same visit?
