“1st thing I noticed walking in was how clean the office was. There were 2 people being helped at front desk, I was called around to the checkout side the moment I was noticed. The lady who checked me in was cheerful and attentive. I waited less than 5 minutes and was led into the back 10 minutes prior to my appt time. First Dr came in promptly and asked if I had any issues and it was nice not to feel rushed, she performed the exam and then Dr Ellis came in, and performed a follow up exam. He took his time answering all my questions. Checking out both ladies in the back were assisting others so now I was called upfront. I paid my co-payment and set up an appt for my wife because of the outstanding treatment I received. It was a welcome change from some drs offices where most of the staff are on their phones and won’t even look at you if it’s not their “job”. I have nothing but high praise for the entire practice. Great job everyone!!!”

“Dr. Rachel Ellis is simply amazing. I have Thyroid Eye Disease and my eyes were pulling and out of alignment, a very difficult thing to work with from the start. I needed a Bilateral Eyelid Traction Release. My eyes were constantly dry and this could very well have caused cornea damage. They were also constantly red and inflamed. My insurance company denied the procedure and she fought them for days and this included long battles with their doctors. I have never had a doctor fight like this for me and she did it. The surgery was approved and she worked on me until it was perfect She saved my eyes and boosted my self esteem by making me look completely normal again. I will never be able to thank her enough for what she did for me. All I can say is that she would do this for anybody. She is kind, compassionate, empathetic and an excellent surgeon. You will always be in great hands. Thank you again Dr. Rachel Ellis. I will never forget how hard you battled for me.”

“Doctors Ellis and their staff were great doing my Mohs surgery for a squamous cell carcinoma on my lip. My visit was initially only for an evaluation after the biopsy results but they said they could do both the removal and plastic surgery right then! This was great as I was worried about it and the timing worked well into my schedule. They continuously asked if there was any pain and gave me anesthetic as needed. I was totally comfortable throughout and after the entire procedure. Afterwards, there were some issues with the proper antibiotic without interactions with other medicines and Dr. Rachel kept in touch with the pharmacy after hours to ensure that I got the proper antibiotic. I went to Drs Ellis after my initial diagnosis by another dermatologist when they said they couldn’t do the procedure because of its size and l location; going forward, I’ll be using Drs. Ellis’ practice and recommending it to others. What was particularly useful was their intelligent use of the Internet. They have 7/24 texting with staff, uploading of preliminary documents and outside biopsy results and on-line appointments--this enabled me to set up everything on a Sunday at a time when I was worried about the squamous cell Carcinoma and wanted to get an appointment for the procedure as soon as possible. Their website and details gave me a high level of confidence about them.”

“I sought treatment for Mohs surgery for a scalp birthmark that tested positive for BC carcinoma. Dr Ellis performed the surgery. He was kind, professional and explained the need to do 3 rounds of excision and testing. Dr Rachel Ellis closed the scalp wound after the procedure. Unfortunately I was one of the rare cases that develop infection which resulted in wound opening, antibiotics, and a 2nd clean up and closure 2.5 wks ago. It was a long journey and my poor luck on this… but I am grateful for the expertise of Dr Rachel for closing the wound the 2nd time, infection free… and her close monitoring of my healing progress. The sutures were removed yesterday, and I expect no further challenges. Follow up is scheduled which I would expect based on my experience. “Wonderful Practice! EVERYONE is nice & welcoming. I have never had a problem coming here. I started with Dr. Rachel Ellis a while back. I cannot say enough about her! It was a scary experience for me, as I had the cancer under my right eyelid. Her husband, Dr. JEFF Ellis performed the Mohs to remove the cancer then Dr. Rachel performed her magic and reconstructed my lower eyelid beautifully back to its original shape after her plastic surgery. I swear it's as if she held my hand through the entire process bc she knew how concerned I was. I always feel comfortable with Dr. Rachel... she's always in a great mood eager to answer any questions, and put you at ease cheerfully.... including the early morning hour of my surgery. I have a long history of many types of skin cancers including a skin graph on my scalp, and melanom (back.) Needless to say, over the year's I've been no stranger to multiple biopsies, Mohs surgeries and surgery, in general. I've also been to many Derms. However, this office is special! I chose to have Dr. JEFF ELLIS look at a new spot on my scalp which is an area that has caused me much anguish and anxiety from a DIFFERENT Dr.'s past hack job. I also had a full body scan bc of several new growths I knew needed to be biopsied. I wish I got her name, but the assistant that took me in was so sweet & knew that I was nervous about my scal. I'm sure she passed that info on to Dr. Jeff (not that he wasn't a pleasure to deal with the last time he performed surgery under my eye,) bc he entered the room with such care and concern. His demeanor was attentive & relaxed. It was just how I needed it to be. He didn't barge through the door like a bully and present like he wanted to rush me through my visit. Dr. Jeff wanted ME to speak and explain my concerns to him. He put me at ease while I was most vulnerable and uptight, and made me comfortable. That meant a lot to me, especially with my cancer history. What a relief to find out what was on my scalp was going to be fine. He continued the body scan, took care of the necessary issues (biopsies,) & I'll continue the process. Sorry for long review, but must give credit where credit is due. Dr. JEFF is a caring professional doctor & so is Dr. Rachel. You can tell they strive to make your experience the best. Their staff are always pleasant & professional (bonus,) my wait time has been only been about 10 mins. “Dr. Slear is my favorite doctor! 😍 And at 71 years of age, I have many. Not only is she beautiful, but her Yale trained brain is gorgeous. Her eyes are like light sapphires and her gentle hands are gold. Figuratively (don’t get nervous). On top of all that she is extremely honest and transparent and will never do a procedure without first explaining the pros and cons and then allowing the patient to decide. And she is the last doctor on the planet who will “rationalize” and do a procedure for profit. Incredibly honest person. Dr. Slear has also squeezed me in on a day’s notice when I was concerned about a dark-brown blotch on my bald head (I was a long distance runner in my youth). I’ve become apolitical at my age, but if Dr. Slear ever ran for POTUS, she’d have my vote in a nanosecond. Update: Dr. Ellis is also incredibly talented. Just removed a benign cyst off my back (see below, lol). Hope you’re not grossed out. Then Dr. Ellis stitched it flawlessly. Nine stitches and no visible scar. Quite impressive. Love this place!”

“I’ve been going to Dr Ellis for a couple of years now. Have had several procedures including “mole” surgery twice that without him and Dr Rachel Ellis my life would be miserable. Not even the slightest remnant of the surgery is visible. Today I actually had my ear pierced. It had been torn 30 yrs ago by my daughter as a baby. I was always afraid to have it fixed. I initially wanted to have the hole sewn but Dr Ellis suggested just to pierce it in front of the hole. He could have done the actual surgery $$ but felt just re- piercing was the better choice. I am very happy. Got to the office at 7:10 and was able to make a 7:35 train to NYC. Did not feel a thing. Will never go elsewhere. Thank you.”

Unfortunately, I had an emergency during the Corona virus mandated stay at home period. Believe it or not there are dermatological emergencies, and Dr Rachel Ellis helped diagnose my eyelid infection remotely and then arranged to see me the next morning. The surgery was (almost) painless, the office was professional and ready for me and my infection was removed.
